In the field of high-end equipment manufacturing, extreme dimensions are a testament to unparalleled capability. Recently, the core equipment—S31603 ultra-long stainless steel towers—manufactured by Doright for a leading enterprise in China’s coal chemical industry has been successfully completed and shipped!

Towers are large vertical vessels used in chemical production to facilitate full contact between gas (vapor) and liquid phases or between liquid phases, enabling mass and heat transfer processes. They perform functions such as distillation, absorption, desorption, extraction, and washing. The longest single tower in this batch exceeds 58 meters, posing a significant challenge to the company’s comprehensive capabilities in both manufacturing and transportation. With their large volume, wide range of wall thickness variations, long welds, and high-quality requirements, these towers demand strict control over welding heat input. The team ensured straightness of the towers and the levelness of tray supports while preventing issues such as intergranular corrosion, welding deformation, and defects. Through collaborative efforts and advanced processes like laser cutting, precision rolling, plasma automatic welding, and precise deformation control, every weld and every inch of straightness met the standards, perfectly exemplifying millimeter-level craftsmanship.  

The project’s destination is located in Hubei Province, 1,200 kilometers away. Faced with the industry-wide dilemma of whether to transport the towers as a whole or in segments, the company’s team meticulously planned and once again overcame numerous bottlenecks in the road transportation of ultra-long and oversized items. This achievement enabled a seamless transition from manufacturing to delivery, not only saving on-site construction and communication costs but also securing valuable time for the customer’s early operation.
