Recently, two core pieces of equipment for the low-temperature methanol washing unit, tailor-made by Qingdao Doright Energy Saving Equipment Co., Ltd. for a leading domestic coal chemical enterprise, have been successfully delivered. Each desulfurization and decarbonization tower boasts a diameter of 3.5 meters and an overall length exceeding 79 meters.

With a large diameter and over-limit length, the towers were manufactured in three phases: in-factory fabrication, segmented transportation, and overhead on-site assembly and welding. Throughout production, the team was required to control welding heat input and dimensional tolerances of segmented components. Additionally, safeguards were needed to prevent equipment deformation during segmented transit and guarantee reliable straightness and levelness for large-diameter field joint assembly. To meet all these requirements, cross-functional teams coordinated closely across design, procurement, fabrication and inspection links. The segmented tower fabrication, large-scale field joint alignment and hydrostatic testing were all finished on schedule, securing precious lead time for the on-time commissioning of the follow-up project.

The successful delivery of this project not only demonstrates Doright’s robust manufacturing competence for oversized equipment, but also accumulates valuable experience in segmented production of large vessels, laying a solid foundation for securing similar orders in the future.
